CLAREMONT COLLEGE

Parent Involvement

Claremont College is excited to provide the following opportunities in 2020 for parents to be informed about and to be involved in their child’s education. The School’s partnership with parents is greatly encouraged and valued, as we seek to nurture and care for your child and support his/her academic growth. By working together we will enhance your child’s learning, build our school community and support you in the most important and challenging job of all, that of being a mum or dad.

Claremont College in 2020 is sure to be fun, busy, purposeful and full of great possibilities for learning and sharing life together.

Check out some of these opportunities for your involvement in the life of our school and community. Please transfer these dates across to your diary or family calendar. We hope that you are able to join us throughout the year at these many exciting events.

Sport @ Claremont

As you read the newsletter each week you will be amazed at the number of opportunities that exist for children in sport. In order for this to happen, we need your help. There are plenty of ways for Mums and Dads to get involved in kids sport at Claremont. You can volunteer to coach a team, OR… make sure you do not miss the following events that simply cannot happen without the help of our enthusiastic band of Mums and Dads.

Swimming Carnival (Years 2-6) – 12 February
Athletics Carnival (K-6) – 27 May
Cross Country Carnival (K-6) – 14 October

P&F 2020

The Claremont College P&F aims to support the school community through fundraising, organising events and activities that build and strengthen families and our School Community, and as an important forum for consultation as we work together to solve problems, to improve our school and to make important changes.

Please support all that the P&F does, and come along to one or more of our meetings that are scattered across the year. Claremont is a great school and one of the reasons for this, is because of the generosity and enthusiastic involvement of our parents.

OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP...

IN THE CLASSOOMS AND ON EXCURSIONS

From time to time, parents will be asked to assist with class activities, Maths and Reading groups, and to provide extra supervision and guidance on excursions. Don’t miss these opportunities to become involved in your child’s learning.

MEMBANTU

Calling all Indonesian speakers - parents and grandparents. We always need help in the classrooms supporting the children (K to 6) with their language learning. Please contact Mrs Shoebridge via the school office if you can assist.

ECO WARRIOR PARENTS CREW

Please help us to continue to shine our light as a sustainable school. We always need help in the ‘farm’ tending to the vegetable gardens and animals. There is always a job to do with the kids.

CALLING ALL SANDWICH MAKERS AND GOURMET CHEFS

Mums, Dads and Grandparents are asked to help in the canteen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. With over 200 lunch orders on a Friday we certainly need the help. Yes, it is true, Dads make the best sandwiches and buy the most ice- blocks for their children’s friends!

LEARNING FESTIVALS

Throughout the year, parents are invited to a special presentation of the learning in their child’s grade. The students will present a showcase of aspects of their work and learning. Dates will be published in the Newsletter.

WE VALUE YOUR PRAYERS

Parents are warmly invited to join the ‘Parents Prayer Group’ that meets at school, every 2 weeks, to pray for Claremont, our School community, and for our world. Look out for the times and dates across the year in the newsletter.

JOIN US FOR CHAPEL

Parents, Grandparents, and younger siblings (yes toddlers) are very welcome to join us every week in the school hall for our Chapel service, 8:45am every Friday morning.
