CLAREMONT COLLEGE

Sport

Weekly Wednesday Sport

Our Infants classes participate in a weekly sports program held at Grant Reserve, Coogee. The excellent facilities at the University of New South Wales and their qualified sports instructors are also utilised as part of the College's sporting program for Years 3 to 6. Students may also visit Allsorts Fitness Centre, Alexandria. All students in Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in a developmental swimming program throughout the year, at the University of NSW or Coogee Diggers Fitness Centre.

CARNIVALS

Our annual sporting carnivals are an opportunity for our four House teams to compete against each other. The Swimming Carnival is in Term 1, the Athletics Carnival in Term 2 and the Cross Country Carnival in Term 3. As we are a member of the IPSHA  (Independent Primary Schools Heads Association) sporting association, there are opportunities for students to represent the College at inter-school through to the national level in these and other sports.

Gala Days

All primary students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of team Gala Days. These one day carnivals are held on a week day throughout the year. Trials and training sessions are held before and after school.

Claremont College does NOT participate in a Saturday sports program, which allows our students to participate in club sports of their choice.
